Job description
Based in Cairo, this position is responsible for:
Roles & Responsibilities
Takes the role of the Local Safety Responsible deputy in Egypt in alignment with Pharmacovigilance Country Head (Middle East) / Qualified Person for Pharmacovigilance (QPPV) coordination lead to ensure that Bayer meets its legal obligations as per the local regulations.
Assists in the maintenance of company’s compliance with respect to laws, regulations and guidance associated with the licensing of Bayer products with respect to patient safety.
Assures the correct implementation and observation of all safety related Quality System Documents (QSD) of Bayer Healthcare referring to local safety activities.
Collects, reviews, processes and distributes the adverse event information regarding the Bayer products in all therapeutic areas; submits the Individual Case Safety Reports to the local Health Authorities of the Egypt plus and Levant countries according to the local regulations.
Verifies and monitors reports from relevant functions / and contracted partners at regular intervals to ensure all cases have been received and processed
Contributes in local safety observation detection and review of local relevant medical literature according with the Pharmacovigilance standard operations and procedures.
Education and training within the local organization to all the internal and external stakeholders; documentation of topics addressed during the training and of participants in the training.
Contributes in assuring the appropriate communication, coordination and alignment between local and Global Pharmacovigilance organization.
Assists in the preparation of local Pharmacovigilance regulatory documents that are requested as part of the registration dossier/or ad hoc and ensures timely submission to the local Health Authorities.
Necessary Qualification, Experience, Skills:
Education & Skills:
Bachelor or Master degree in Pharmacy or Medicine
At least 2 years’ experience in the healthcare industry (preferably with 1 year experience in Pharmacovigilance or clinical research)
Ideally knowledgeable in Pharmacovigilance relevant regulations.
Good communication skills – Excellent command of the English language.
Knowledge of major concepts in data management and systems.

As a member of Munich Re the MedNet Group is a leading TPA across the MEA region. We are currently seeking to hire a Medical Manager with the following tasks and responsibilities.
Your Job
Plan and manage the overall operations of the medical department in order to ensure achievement of optimum customer satisfaction with the medical review services
Lead and manage the effective evaluation of in-hospital cases and outpatient claims in respect of medical necessity and appropriateness
Provide overall guidance and leadership to the medical team in terms of authorization activities, claims review, evaluation and as well as ensuring compliance with established policy guidelines
Manage and maintain a standardized procedures for pre-authorization, utilization review, case management, discharge planning and related medical management tools in accordance with corporate policies and guidelines
Approve medical authorization requests (as per delegated authority) if they comply with all stipulations and lead the medical auditing process and signing of all inpatients claims.
Ensure effective communication with insurance companies concerning scope of coverage issues and ensure prompt provision of solutions in accord with established corporate policies and guidelines
Ensure effective management of calls and follow up calls on medical authorization to ensure adherence to established procedures
Direct the team in issuing chronic medications as per internal guidelines and policy terms and conditions, ensure medical underwriting is performed according to Munich Re guidelines
Your Profile
Medical degree from a university recognised by the World Health Organisation (WHO)
Minimum 8 years’ experience of medicine practice of which is at least 2 years in TPA / medical insurance sector as well as 2 years of managerial/supervisory experience
Knowledge of concepts of medical insurance
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of the organisation
Strong acumen and leadership skills as well as quality results oriented
Good negotiation and problem-solving skills
Good knowledge of Microsoft applications
Fluency in business English and Arabic
